COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Knowing Yourself:  Your Unique S.H.A.P.E.

Knowing Yourself looks at three key biblical concepts that are foundational to understanding ourselves. It then helps you to look at yourself as an individual - the kind of person you are, your strengths and weaknesses, your talents, abilities and gifts, your individual personal needs. With this biblical and practical understanding of yourself you will be better equipped to live your life to the glory of God.

The Lord’s Prayer

This is an extensive series of studies on the Lord’s Prayer. Each part of the prayer is studied in depth and filled with powerful significance by the study of related Old and New Testament texts.

Becoming a Student of the Word:  How to Study The Bible

The art of understanding and applying God’s Word is the Holy Spirit’s primary means of transforming us into Christ-likeness.  This course will cover the importance of becoming a life-long student of God’s word and introduce to how to study the bible through observation, interpretation, and application of Scripture.

*Prayers that Availeth Much:  Prayer and Intercession (MIT Credit)

This course provides students with insight, knowledge, and deeper belief in the power of prayer and intercession.  It provides a biblical context for understanding and applying prayer and intercession as an instrument to fulfilling the will of God in the earth.

*Bridge Builders – Sharing Your Faith (MIT Credit)

The goal of this course is to train and equip individuals with biblical knowledge, scripture, and techniques for effective one-on-one evangelism.  Students will learn the use of appropriate scripture, conversation, and good listening skills to discern when and how to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the unsaved.

The Dark Side:  A Study on Spiritual Warfare

In this study, we’ll take a deeper look at the truth about Satan, demons, and the evil in the paranormal world.  We will examine the truth of who we are in Christ and the armor He has made available to us to stand confidently against the forces of evil and the devil’s schemes.

Lord, Change My Attitude (Young Adult Ladies)

What does God think about attitudes? This study uses examples from the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt to how attitudes can affect whether someone stays in the wilderness or enjoys the blessings of the Promised Land. There is hope for the attitudinally challenged.  Experience a powerful combination of in-depth Bible study and real-life application; including case studies, prayers, and examples of good and bad attitudes from the Old and New Testaments and how they apply in today’s world.

The End of Me (Young Adult Men)

In this session, young adult men will explore difficult moments by looking at four of the beattitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. This study will focus on a different paradoxical teaching of Christ. and will look at real-life examples of people who have lived the upside-down life that Jesus describes. Only when you come to the end of yourself will you begin to be transformed into the whole, blessed person God made you to be.
